Kitchen With Storage

The Specification

Mr and Mrs Michelle knew they needed their new kitchen to make the kitchen more accessible as they got older and to create more storage space. The obvious solution was to make the most of their enormous 2.6m high ceiling. We added top-boxes, scribed to the ceiling, to their new tall wall cupboards, adding a quarter more storage than they had originally.

Food Storage

LeMans pull outs were used in the two blind corner cupboards to make all of the space available easily accessible. They can hold up to 50kg each and so Mr and Mrs Michelle have taken full advantage of this and now store all of their cans and sauces here. The Larder Pull Out next to the oven makes reaching even the top shelf easy so that there is no more wasted food.

Kitchen Storage

Their large 90cm hob and telescopic extractor is the focal point of the kitchen, highlighted with a large painted glass splash back and has plenty of storage with nine drawers available of which six are large enough for pans. They chose to upgrade their drawers to have frosted glass sides to prevent small bowls from slipping out.

There is a small window located very close to the wall so to make the most of the space, we designed a shallow cupboard which can now hold all of their handmade pottery which has been stored at the back of a cupboard for years.

Cost Saving

To keep down the cost, they opted to re-use most of their appliances like their dishwasher, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer as well as use laminate worktops. This meant that they could afford to splash out on a new slide and hide oven with complimentary combination oven and warming drawer, and that enormous gas hob.

A similar kitchen would cost £15-20K
