Farmhouse Design Rescue!

The Project

The Baker family lived in the most idyllic Somerset cottage that they planned to renovate themselves over the next 10 years. Five years on, the kitchen was the final part of bringing one half of the house into the home they dreamed of.

The Howdens Disaster

The year before, they snapped up a deal from Howdens that seemed too good to be true.

Yes, those dreaded words......

The quality of the carcasses were abysmal and the design of room seriously lacking. It was not the farmhouse kitchen they had dreamed of. They had gone ahead too quickly and now regretted their decision.

But help was near!

Saving The Day

Together, we rearranged what units they had, added supports to the poor quality carcasses, created a few new units and brought them all together with a new coat of paint. They now had the large family farmhouse kitchen they had dreamed of but didn't think they could have afforded. To top it all off, we sourced a chunky waney edged wooden worktop for the island and found some budget friendly stone effect tops. Doesn't it look beautiful.
