New Build Kitchen

Mr and Mrs Gallagher bought their house off plan from Marshwood Homes, a local building company in Taunton. Being involved from the foundations up, meant that it was easy to design their house exactly how they wanted.

Their kitchen is in the centre of a beautiful open plan room with stunning views over Trull and towards the Quantocks. They knew from the beginning how the kitchen should look and were delighted that we could make it happen. They chose to make one of the smaller rooms leading off the kitchen into a walk in pantry, with a large fridge and plenty of shelving, which meant that their kitchen could be kept to a minimum and blend in with the rest of the room which they have as a sitting area and garden room.

Mid-Height Units

A bank of ovens including a Double Oven, Combination Oven and Steam Oven, all from Neff, provide plenty of cooking options and are perfect for catering for large numbers of guests. By integrating them into mid-height units, they merge into the room and leave the top for decoration making the kitchen not feel very kitchen-y at all. The large double sink nestles amongst a bank of drawers providing plenty of easily accessible space under the window.

The Island

The island houses a small fridge for everyday items such as milk before having a further two sets of drawers and several more cupboards. A landscape hob sits flush centrally in the island looking out of the window into the garden and is almost invisible on the black granite worktop. By choosing to have a downdraft extractor, it leaves the ceiling clear, proving clear sightlines down the length of the room.

They chose to have handmade doors to reflect the Georgian inspired feel of their home. By having it as a lay-on door instead of in-frame, it gives the modern twist needed for a new build.
