Oak New Build Kitchen

The James’s house has a very modern and crisp look to it but with beautiful wooden floors and their exposed oak kitchen, it has been softened into a lovely family home. Although a predominantly wooden kitchen, the painted island units gives a lightness to the room. Using oak drawers and vegetable baskets links it back to the rest of the units.

Kitchen Larder

Their kitchen is packed with plenty of storage space with two pull out larders, a huge American Fridge/Freezer and a beautiful corner larder. The larder uses the whole space inside and has spice racks as well as a sweeping curved marble shelf for keeping their eggs and vegetables cool. There are also two spice and oil racks and plenty of shelves echoing the curved marble.

Under the window there is a pull out bin with integrated shelf meaning that it is the perfect place to keep all of the cleaning materials. In the corner leading into the peninsular, there is another bespoke curved door to lead you around the kitchen. There is only one wall cupboard which is an open plate rack to display their beautiful crockery as well as have it in easy reach.

Corian Worktops

They chose a collection of worktops to best suit their needs in the different areas of the kitchen. Corian was used around the sink to provide a durable worksurface that didn’t mind getting wet. They chose to have a stainless steel sink over the integrated Corian sink but did have the coved upstands to make it an extremely hygienic to clean as there are no cracks for germs to hide in.

On the island they chose to have oak to match the kitchen doors and the floor that runs throughout the ground floor. As their flushline landscape induction hob was also on the island, they had a small panel of black granite inset into the wood to provide a sealed area to place dirty spoons and warm pans.

Drinks Cabinet!

After the kitchen was finished, they wanted a large wine cabinet to go in the dining room, just off the kitchen. They had spotted on online that they liked but it was much too expensive so they asked Robert Charles if there was anything we could do. Taking inspiration from the layout, we designed a bespoke cabinet for them with an integrated fridge and freezer either side of a base cupboard for storage. The top section, accessed with large bi-folding doors, had glass shelves and a mirrored back to display their collection of spirits and crystal.
