Kitchen Trends 2022

We are nearing the end of 2021 which has been all about all singing and dancing pantry’s, hidden appliances, grey everything and not forgetting the reinvented utility come boot room!

All of these key 2021 trends lead us on towards what 2022 will bring and I am pretty confident in saying that colour will be back!

What did we learn about colour in 2021?

  • We saw that grey and monochrome wall colour palettes seemed to dominate our homes, pinterest, social media and even fashion.

  • We added accent colours like mustard, navy and blush pink through our home in the form of towels, canisters, cushions, rugs and mugs

  • Panelling came back into fashion with bold feature walls being transformed to offer more depth as well as natural wood panelling strips being installed across a wall to add warmth

  • Marble and monochrome marble effect tops seemed to dominate the market

So what can we see happening for next year?

We have seen Navy kitchens but for 2022 the colours are going to be more bold - rich and very opulent!

Jewel colours are likely to be the focus with Yellow (one of this years Pantone colour of the year) as the main fronter, Blue - which will offer a whole spectrum of colours from those very light blues to the dark navy we already know and love and not forgetting our very wholesome Green - which could be emerald to forest green all the way up to sage. Choose colours with lots of pigment, that doesn’t mean bright, it means a depth of colour that gives solidity. Pair this with textures from wood or fluted glass to give interest to the room.

Remember that we live in our kitchens so leave space for displaying bits of your personality, whether that’s pictures on the wall or shelves for pretty things.
